Grandpa and Grandma Bedwell were visiting Grandpa Roy and Betha Lee Irons in
Mt. Gilead, Ohio. They drove all the way from Southern Virginia to Ohio. I was
about four years old. Grandpa Bedwell was sitting in a rocking chair when I approached
him. I knew that he was special. He had a handle bar mustache and wore a shirt
and pants with suspenders. He unwrapped what appeared to be a candy bar and offered
me a piece. I took it and began to chew. It was not chocolate, as it was tobacco.
That was his joke and my first and only chaw." Date and time are listed
