• 1870 Census for Scott County, Virginia shows Rebecca Duncan, 61, as head of household consisting of: Wiley W., 23, a farm laborer; Sarah J. Tyler, 32; Rebecca A. Tyler, 13; James W. Tyler, 12; Lorenzo D. Tyler, 10; and Nancy E. Tyler, 8.

John Tyler (son of Hannibal Tyler) was born about 1836 in Scott County, Virginia.557 He died in May 1863 in The Battle of Chancellorsville during the Civil War. He served in the military in the in Civil War, Confederate. Sarah Jane Duncan and John Tyler had the following children:
