Fairy Bedwell Poe, 89 of Galax, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 5,2008 in Waddell Nursing Home. She was born in Grayson County on July 15,1918 to the late Joseph Rush and Pearlie Hale Bedwell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gordon Poe. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Clint Funk of Galax; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Cindy Poe of Galax; Jackie and Sheree Poe of Martinsville; sister, Emma Goodnough of Galax; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Mar. 7, 2008 at 8 p.m. at Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill, Pastor D.G. Fox, Rev. Ben Haga and Pastor Jackie Poe officiating. Graveside services were held Saturday, Mar. 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Felts Memorial Cemetery. A guest book is available online at www.vaughanguynn.com.
