his wife, L. J. (or L.G.?), 17, born in North Carolina. They live next door
to Hiram Bedwell and famly.
• Jackson Bedwell, age 58, is shown in the 1870 Census for Bradley County
for District 7 (on page 18; the index on ancestry.com is incorrect -- it lists
him as Bodwell, but the census film itself clearly shows that the census taker
wrote Bedwell). He is a farmer living with Amanda E., age 24; William J., age
22; and Joseph, age 20. All were born in Tennessee. William is listed as unable
to read or write. Andrew Jackson Bedwell and [--?--]
