• History of Shelby County, Kentucky, p. 265-266, shows private Thomas Bedwell as a member of "a Company of Militia of Kentucky commanded by Captain Jesse Holmes, called into actual service under the command of Brigadier General Joseph Winlock, December 25, 1806, to January 25, 1807." This militia played a part in "nipping the conspiracy of Aaron Burr."

• Moved to Indiana about 1816.
