He appeared in the census in 1880 in Leavenworth County, Kansas. He appeared in the census in 1900 in Shawnee County, Kansas. In 1900 he was a blacksmith. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Horton, Brown County, Kansas. In 1910 he was a blacksmith for the railroad. He died in 1953 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.

Listed as Stephen Bedwell in 1870 census, but as Duglas Bedwell in 1880 census.

Stephen Douglas (Doug) Bedwell and Rosa K. Krapp were married about 1883. Rosa K. Krapp⁵⁹⁷ was born in Nov 1861 in Michigan.¹²⁰⁶ Stephen Douglas (Doug) Bedwell and Rosa K. Krapp had the following children:
