The three youngest were born in Clarke County, Alabama.

1860 Slave Schedule for Clarke County, Alabama, shows Allen Bedwell as the owner of eight slaves, all black: two adult females, two female children, and four male children. There is one slave house. Next on the page is John Cunningham, Allen Bedwell's brother-in-law; he has 40 slaves (4 of whom are listed as "fugitives from the state") and 11 slave houses.

William and John were born in Mississippi, the rest in Alabama.

Allen Bedwell and Elizabeth Cunningham were married on 10 Oct 1837 in Butler, Choctaw County, Alabama. Elizabeth Cunningham²²⁸ (daughter of ) was born about 1823 in Tennessee. She appeared in the census in 1840 in Living in Clark County, Mississippi. She appeared in the census in 1850 in Living in Clark County, Mississippi. She was unable to read or write in 1860. She died after Jun 1880.
