• 1860 Census for Henderson County, Tennessee shows Catherine Bedwell, 35, a farmer with $500 worth of property, as head of household consisting of: Martha Bedwell, 8; Sarah Bedwell, 6; Jane Bedwell, 4; and Carroll Bedwell, 2. They are living next door to Carr Bedwell's parents, John and Susan.

Carr Bedwell and Catherine Taylor were married before 1852 in Tennessee. Catherine Taylor⁶ was born about 1825 in Tennessee.⁶ She appeared in the census in 1860 in Shady Hill, Henderson County, Tennessee. In 1860 she was in Farmer. She owned in 1860 in Real Estate = $500; Personal Property = $50.. She died after 1900 in (probably Henderson County, Tennessee).

They are living next door to Carr Bedwell's parents, John and Susan.

She is probably the Catherine Bedwell shown in the 1900 Census for Henderson County. That Catherine Bedwell was born in Dec 1827 in Tennessee from parents who were born in North Carolina. She is a widow who has had five children with four still living. She is a member of the household of her brother, John Taylor, age 64, and his family. John Taylor was also born in Tennessee, but the oldest of his children still living in the household was born in Mississippi in 1870; the younger ones were born back in Tennessee. Did Catherine Bedwell, widow of Carr Bedwell, move to Mississippi with her brother's family sometime before 1870? (However, the same John Taylor and family are shown in Henderson County in the 1880 Census, and that same child is shown as born in Tennessee, not Mississippi. Catherine Bedwell is not in the household in 1880).
