"W. R. Sprinkle
Funeral services for W. R. 'Bill' Sprinkle, 85, of Greenville, will be 2:30 p.m.
today in the Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Gary Don Sprinkle officiating. Burial
will be in the Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Sprinkle died Sunday in Citizens General Hospital. He was born on Sept. 6,
1906, in Hunt County, the son of Elisha Perry and Clara Annis Freeman Sprinkle.
He was married to Ettie May Powell, who preceded him in death in 1956. He later
married Bertha O'Hara, who preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1981. Mr. Sprinkle was
a retired mechanic for the City of Greenville. He served in the U.S. Army during
World War II. He was a Methodist.
He is survived by four sons, Jack Sprinkle, Don Sprinkle and Avon Chandler of
Greenville and Reggie Sprinkle of Garland; two brothers, Wylie Sprinkle of Paris
and Chandler Sprinkle of Greenville; one sister, Hazel Mays of Greenville; 10
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was
preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Dearing; two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sprinkle, Terry Sprinkle, Andy George, Tom Olson, Doyle
Sprinkle and Rick Espino. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Chandler, Billy
Don Sprinkle, Don Goen and Terry Goen."
