about 1837 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. She died of pneumonia on
13 Jan 1880 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.96,310 She was buried in Raby Cemetery,
Moore County, Tennessee.311,312
Does not seem to appear in the 1860 Census.
1870 Census for Lincoln County, Tennessee shows T.W. Crane, age 22, a
farmer with $200 in assets, as head of household that includes: Elizabeth, age
28; J.A., age 6, male; J.R., age 3, male; Mary Bedwell, age 75; and M.E. Thompson,
age 17, female. All were born in Tennessee except J.A., who was born in Illinois.
February 5, 1880, Fayetteville Observer, p.3 Col. 4:
DIED - In this county, on the head waters of Mulberry creek, the 12th inst.,
at the residence of T.W. CRAIN, of old age, Mrs. P.K. BEDWELL, aged 80 years.
Also at the same place on the 13th inst. of pneumonia, her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth,
wife of T.W. CRAIN, aged 38 years. She leaves a husband
and six children to mourn her loss. She joined the M.E. church in early life....
One file says she was born Feb 27, 1848, but this does not agree with
her ages in various documents. The 1850 census showed her as 14 (born between
1835-1836), while the 1870 census showed her as 28 (born bet 1841-1842). Her
obituary notice (see above) showed her as 38 (born about 1841).
1880 Census for Moore County, Tennessee shows T.W. Crane, age 32, a farmer
who is a widower, as head of household containing: son A., age 16; son J.R.,
age 13; son S.A., age 9; daughter Alice, age 6; daughter L.C., age 4; son C.W.,
age 1; Milly Bartlett, age 72 (there is a Bartlett family living next door also);
and niece Mary Thompson, age 24. All were born in Tennessee except son A. Crane,
who was born in Illinois. Elizabeth (Belle) Bedwell and Timothy Watson Crane
were married on 18 Oct 1863 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.313 Timothy Watson Crane (son
of Spartan Crane and Jane Steelman) was born on 17 Aug 1848 in Lynchburg, (Lincoln)
Moore County, Tennessee. He died on 25 Apr 1901.311 He was buried in Raby Cemetery, Moore County, Tennessee.311 He was also known as Timothy
Crain.
1860 Census for Lincoln County, Tennessee shows Timothy Crane, age 12, living
in the household of James and Jane Marr, a farming couple in their 30s. Also
in the household are Alex Crane, age 16, and James Crane, age 14, along with
seven Marr children. Elizabeth (Belle) Bedwell and Timothy Watson Crane had
