Mrs. Sara Pippin, 87, of Clovis, a retired homemaker, died Monday, July 21, 2003,
at her home.
She was born May 16, 1916, in Waco, Texas, to James Donald and Sara Elizabeth
Bayer Fuller. She was a teacher in a two-room schoolhouse in Tennessee. She
married Conrad L.C. Pippin in 1955. They moved to Clovis where they farmed north
of town. Family members said she enjoyed many different crafts and has taught
on a variety of topics throughout the years. She was a member of the Association
of Retarded Citizens, Claud Rainy Day Club and First United Methodist Womens
Circle 1 and 2.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Don W. Pippin.
She is survived by a daughter, Sammie Hutchison (and husband, Dan) of Cedar Crest;
a son, John Pippin of Clovis; two sisters, Ann Davis of Mesa Grande, Calif.,
and Jo Davis of Escondido, Calif.; 13 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and
nephews; 14 great-great nieces and nephews; and a caregiver, Connie Gallegos
of Clovis.
Steve McElroy will officiate the services. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial
Gardens in Clovis.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local church, mission or orphanage of
choice; New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranches (Pippin Youth Ranch); or by planting
a tree, bush or flower.
