• 1880 Census for Cayuga Precinct, Hinds County, Mississippi shows Alfred
D. Lowry, 31, a farmer, as head of household with: son Clarence, 9 (?); daughter
Minnie, 2; sister-in-law Cordelia Newman, 28; and Sylvia Brown, 68, black, a
servant. They live next door to William B. Lowry. Alfred Dawson Lowry and
Mary Florence Hubbard were married in 1869 in Mississippi.129 Mary Florence Hubbard was
