From Jim Webb: "Wlm. Caleb furnished aid and supplies to the State of North Carolina during the Revolutionary War period. He did not serve but had a substitute, Moses Plowman. He had a home plantation lying on the South Yadkin River in Iredell County and 200 acres of land on the waters of Swisher's Creek in Surry County. the State of North Carolina granted him 500 acres on 04 Nov. 1784. His WILL (Will Book I No 171 page 2267) mentions many household items such as horses, slaves, livestock, a still and tubes, cooper's, joiner's, shoemaker's and farming tools. Witnesses to the will were: John H. Freeling, Elizabeth Freeling and Henry Freeling."
