WYTHEVILLE - James Fred Bedwell, age 79, of Wytheville, died early Monday, August
10, 1992, in the Malin Health Center. He was born in Wythe County, the son of
the late Charles W. and Elizabeth McKaughan Bedwell. Surviving are his wife,
Theresa C. Bedwell; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger K. and Neva Bedwell, Sr.,
Wytheville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rita B. and Frank Vaught, Wytheville;
a brother, Homer G. Bedwell, Knob Noster, Mo.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
several nieces, nephews; and several cousins also survive. Funeral services will
be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 1992 from the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Robert Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview
United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends
from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Lindsey Funeral Home,
Rural Retreat is in charge of arrangements. Theresa

BEDWELL, Theresa Cline, 81, of Edgemont Center in Wytheville, died Monday, September
29, 1997, after a long illness. She was born in Louisa, Ky., and was the last
surviving member of six. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred
Bedwell. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roger K. and Neva Bedwell;
a daughter and son-in-law, Rita M. and Frank Vaught, all of Wytheville; a brother-in-law,
Homer G. Bedwell of Knob Noster, Mo; granddaughters, Brenda S. Bedwell and Lynda
M. Jones, both of Rural Retreat; grandson, David J. Bedwell of Wytheville; stepgrandson
and wife, Eddie and Karen Kegley, and son Kenneth, and daughter, Lacy of Crockett;
stepgranddaughters and husbands, Rita and Jeb Huddle and daughter Nikki of Wytheville,
Karen Sue and Kevin Anderson and son Dalton of Rural Retreat; great-granddaughters,
Kayla Jones, Anna M. Bedwell, and Amy Lephew; great-grandson, Brad Jones, all
of Wytheville. Several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Funeral services
will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 1997 at the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Robert Countiss officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview
United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends
Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home. Lindsey Funeral Home,
Rural Retreat, is in charge of arrangements.
