• 1860 Census for Nodaway County, Missouri shows William Bedwell, 25, born in Tennessee, a farmer with $200 real estate and $150 assets, and Rebecca Bedwell, 65, born in Virginia, a housekeeper.

• 1870 Census for Jefferson Township, Warren County, Iowa, taken in Aug 1870, shows William Bedwell, 35, born in Tennessee, a farmer who owns $1000 in real estate and $300 in personal assets, as head of household including: Eliza J., 23, born in Kentucky; Mary P., 3, born in Nebraska; Robert W., 1, born in Iowa; and William J. Ragsdale, 36, a farm laborer.



• 1880 Census for Warren County, Iowa shows William Bedwell, 47, a farmer born in Tennessee, as head of household: Eliza J., 36, born in Kentucky; daughter Mary, 14, born in Nebraska; son Robert W., 10; son Elston, 8; daughter Rosa, 6; and daughter Elizabeth, 3. The rest of the children were born in Iowa.

• 1910 Census for Appanoose County, Iowa, shows Elizabeth Bedwell, 63, a widow born in Kentucky who has had four children with one still living, and son Harry, 34, who was born in Missouri of parents born in Missouri and Kentucky, who works as a foreman at a road house (or round house?). This is probably not the same Elizabeth; although her age and birth place do match up, the number of her children and the son living with her (and the birthplaces of his parents) do not match up.
