• The biography of his son, Samuel F. Bedwell, extracted from Centennial History of Grant County, Indiana 1812-1912, Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago and New York 1914, contains this information about Aaron Bedwell:

Aaron Bedwell, who was born in Henry county, Indiana, June 13, 1830, grew up there and early in the '50's married Nancy Buck. She was born May 31, 1829, in Marion County of this state. About ten years after their marriage they moved to the city of Marion, in 1865, and there Aaron Bedwell continued his business as a cooper and plasterer with success until his retirement. He died while living with his son in Upland, on May 8, 1875. His widow survived, and she lives in Marion with her daughter, Mrs. Josephine Rhodehamel, still active in mind and body. Her religious faith is in the New Light Christian church, while her husband belonged to the Methodist faith, and in politics was first a Whig and later a Republican. The children of Aaron Bedwell and wife are given record as follows: Sarah E., born February 20, 1854 is the wife of Rev. Samuel Ballenger, a Quaker minister at Upland; William A., born February 17, 1856, is a bachelor and lives in Upland, his business being that of an oil well driller; Charles M., born April 7, 1858, is also engaged in drilling oil wells, and he lives at Upland; Samuel F., is next in line among the children; Adolphus, born October 7, 1863, lives in Marion; Josephine, born March 20, 1867, is the wife of Esta A. Rhodehamel, of Marion; and Matilda, born May 13, 1869, is the wife of James Moore, of Upland.

• 1850 Census for Marion Center Township, Grant County, Indiana, taken Oct 1850, shows Aaron Bedwell, 19, a plasterer, living in the household of his parents: Samuel Bedwell, 52, a farmer who owns $1250 real estate; Unity, 55; and Hannah A., 18.

• 1860 Census for Stoney Creek Township (Blountsville post office), Henry County, Indiana shows Aaron Bedwright, 29, a "Mas Cooper" with $150 assets, as head of household with: Nancy, 30; Sarah, 6; William, 4; Marion, 2, male.

• 1870 Census for Marion, Grant County, Indiana shows Aaron Bedwell, 40, a cooper with $600 real estate and $100 assets, as head of household containing: Nancy, 39; Sarah E., 16; William A., 13; Charles M., 11; Samuel F., 9; Adolphus, 6; Josephine, 4; Matilda, 1; and Ann Bedwell, 38, a housekeeper. Ann was born in Ohio, the others in Indiana.

• 1880 Census for Jefferson Upland ("Vill of Upland"), Grant County, Indiana shows Nancy Bidwell, 52, a housekeeper, as head of household including: son William A., 24; son Charles M., 22; son Samuel, 18; son Adolphus, 16; daughter Josephine, 13; daughter Matildia, 11; and S.A. Rodhamel, 22, born in Ohio, a servant.

Aaron Bedwell and Nancy Buck were married on 14 Apr 1853 in Delaware County, Indiana.739 Nancy Buck254 was born on 31 May 1829 in Marion County, Indiana.254 She died after 1910.740

1880 Census for Grant County, Indiana, shows Nancy Bidwell, age 52, a widow, as head of household consisting of: son William A., age 24; son Charles H., age 22; son Samuel, age 18; son Adolphus, age 16; daughter Josephine, age 13; daughter Matilda, age 11; and S.A. Rhodelhamel, age 22, a servant. Aaron Bedwell and Nancy Buck had the following children:
