398. Charlotte Bedwell164 was born about 1841 in Grayson County, Virginia.104,181 She died in 1935 in Grayson County, Virginia.175

• 1860 Census for Bridle Creek, Grayson County, Virginia shows Charlotte Bedwell, 19, no occupation listed, and Wiley Bedwell, 3. They are the lone members of the household.

• Grayson County Birth Records 1853-1879 (on the newrivernotes.com site) shows Amelia Ann Bedwell, born 23 May 1871 to "Charlott Bedwell (unmarried)" and George Washington Bedwell, born 11 May 1873, also to "Charlott Bedwell (unmarried)".

• 1880 Census shows Charlott Bedwell as single head of household with three daughters. Census form has three categories for marriage status: single, married, widowed/divorced. That she was listed as single might mean never married, indicating her children were born out of wedlock.

1880 Census shows the birthplace of the father of her daughters Ida and Amelia as North Carolina. Birthplace of father of Thirsey, who is older, as Virginia (Va is in quotes; does this mean "probably"?). Apparently, there were at least two different fathers here.
