He was a retired church furniture finisher and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. The funeral service was Oct. 11 in the O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Burial was in Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Bedwell of Thomasville; son, James Leonard Bedwell of Ward; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were W.V. Bedwell, Dean Bedwell, Ray Morgan, Clayton Hare, Walter Gray Brooks and Nelson Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Gilmer Deas, Glover Morgan, Luther Parden, James Newton, Bobby West and Willie Bedwell.
