OBITUARY, 11 JUNE 1930:
Mrs. Nancy Ellen Morton, 44 years old, died at 1 o'clock this morning at her
home, 465 South Ethel Street. Death was due to cancer. She is survived by her
husband J. W. Morton; four children, Rosa Victor Morton, Marie Morton, John Morton,
Juanita morton, all at home, and her father, William Vance of Salem MO. Funeral
Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon atthe First Baptist church.
The Rev. Billie Bain will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery under
the direction of Todd Undertaking company.

OBITUARY, July 29 1931:
J. W. Morton, 50 years old, 465 South Ethel Street, died at 10:40 o'clock this
morningat his home. He was a veteran employee of the Federal mining and Smelting
Company. His wife died here a year ago. Mr. Morton is survived by three daughters,Rosie,
Marie, and Juanita, also at home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.The Todd
undertaking company is in charge.
JULY 30 1931:
Funeral Services for J.W. morton, 50 years old, 465 South Ethel street, who died
yeasterday, willbe conducted at the First baptist church at 2;30 o'clock tomorrow
afternoon. The pastor, the Rev Billie Bain, will be in charge, and pallbearers,
will be former employees of the Lucky Bill mine, where Mr. Morton worked for
some time. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami.
