"BONINE - In Sawtelle Veterans Hospital, October 5, 1965, Tom Bonine, 74, native of Missouri, resident of Porterville more than 40 years before moving to southern California. Husband of Mrs. Bessie Bonine; father of Mrs. Elizabeth Evans and Wilbur Dowd; uncle of six, Mrs. Kenneth Martin, Dorothy Densmore, Ether Matthews, Fern Traylor, Verna McConnell and Avis Smith. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday in Little Chapel of the Flowers at Forest Lawn. Internment at 2 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville."

Obituary Notice in Porterville Evening Recorder dated 1/16/1969:

"BESSIE BONINE SUCCUMBS IN REDWOOD CITY. Bessie C. Bonine, 82 died Tuesday in Sequoia hospital in Redwood City following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bonine was born Oct. 28, 1886 in Kings City, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William S. Copley. She had lived in San Carlos for the past three years with her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Evens, 342 Laurel Street. Before going to San Carlos, Mrs. Bonine had lived in Glendale for many years and was a member of Chevy Chase Baptist church of Glendale. She was the wife of the late Thomas Bonine, who died Oct. 5, 1965 in Glendale. Prior to living in Glendale the Bonines were long time residents of the rural Porterville area. Besides Mrs. Evans, survivors include a son, Wilbur Dowd of Fresno; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Lawrence of San Jose and Mrs. Cann of Watsonville; a brother, Howard Copley of Mountain Ranch; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Jan. 18 in the family plot in Porterville Cemetery."
