"LEE W. BONINE

Lee W. Bonine, 75, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 14 in riverside Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. Services were held Sunday, Sept. 17, at Broadway Mortuary, Wichita, in the funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. and graveside service at 4:00 p.m. at Wakita Cemetery with Rev. Herman Ging officiating.

Lee was born March 24, 1914 at Wakita. He attended Wakita High School where he was on the football team. Later receiving his B,S, degree from Northwestern in Alva. Lee accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Riverside Christian Chruch in Wichita, Kansas. He married Ruby Rickabaugh June 2, 1934. He taught in Grant and Garfield Counties, beginning in a country school south of Wakita. He joined the Masonic Lodge while at Hillsdale and kept his membership current with the Kremlin Lodge. After his position at Hillsdale as the Superintendent of the school, he entered the mail service in Texarkana, Texas in 1940, where he was on probation until he was placed in Wichita, Kansas in May of 1941. he worked in the terminal before transferring to the Newton postal clerk, later becoming a postal service officer in the Wichita Region. Lee retired May 31, 1971 after thirty years of service.

He loved to work the land and harvest wheat alongside his father. His special hobby through his middle years was refereeing basketball and football in Kansas. He enjoyed his travel trailer especially the times his family could all be together at the lakes.

He leaves to mourn his wife Ruby; two sons, Larry and Joe of Wichita, two daughters, Sherry Kelsey of Wichita, Janice Bosch of Tuscon, Arizona and 6 grandchildren."
