Charles Cecil Bedwell was born on 19 Aug 1901 in Burrell, Decatur County, Iowa. He died on 6 Jan 1902 in Decatur City, Decatur County, Iowa.

Decatur County Journal February 27, l902 CHARLEY CECIL BEDWELL, only child of HENRY and MYRA BEDWELL was born August l9, l902, and died January 6, l902, aged four months and eighteen days, at the home of his grandparents, MR. and MRS. A. BIBBY, two miles south of Decatur City, Iowa, where the funeral was conducted by Rev. Harvey of the M.E. Church. Little CECIL was taken with the whooping cough and lung fever and suffered seven weeks. The last of his sickness was very painful and he suffered untold misery but he bore it with perfect patience and without complaining. All was done that loving hearts and willing hands could do, but all in vain. He was too pure for this sinful world, so God took his little spirit to dwell with Him in glory. The broken hearted relatives and kind friends laid the lovely little body in the Decatur Cemetery to await further promises of the Savior. His short life was spent at the home of his grandparents where all loved him abundantly for his quiet and lovely disposition. "Now we see through a glass darkly." We cannot see why our darling was taken from us but it was "God's will" and while our hearts are broken and our tears fall like rain, we know our loss is our darling baby's gain. But while we mourn for him on earth we know he is safe in the arms of Jesus who doeth all things well.
