They are renters.

• 1920 Census for Greenfield Township, Warren County, Iowa, taken on Jan 9 1920, shows Robert W. Bedwell, age 50, a farmer, as head of household containing: wife Nevada, age 47; son Glenn R., age 22; son Ray B., age 20; son Orval L., age 14; and son Howard E., age 5.

• 1930 Census for Greenfield Township, Warren County, Iowa, taken in Arp 1920, shows Robert W. Bedwell, age 60, a farmer who rents his land, as head of household with: Nevada, age 58, his wife of 33 years; and son Howard E., age 16.

Thanks for your speedy reply and very useful information.

My husband is the grandson of Robert Wakefield and Nevada(Comer)Bedwell. He is the son of Ray Bryan Bedwell. His father moved to Chicago and married Ruth Irene Halladay(b. Oct 18, 1907, Cook Co, IL d. Aug 1995, Cook Co, IL). Ray worked as a meat cutter for a Super Market until his death Apr 1956,
Cook Co, IL. They had four children. Their first born son, Jack, died at the age of two in 1932. They then had two girls and a son who are all living.

I looked up Glen and Orville on the Social Security Death Index and found that Glen died July 1968 in Cook Co, IL and Orville died December 1977 in Polk Co, IA. I could not find Ernest in the index.

My husband, Ray's father died when he was ten years old. His mother did not keep up associations with his father's side of his family. Information about them was very sketchy. He would like to know if he is related to you. We actually started our search of The Bedwells because his mom had said that
she was told that this branch of the Bedwell Family Tree had some Native American ancestry. Any ideas on that?
