"Mrs. Herbert T. (Lula) Smith, 1401 Coolidge, 50, died Sunday evening at the St. Rose Hospital having been in poor health for six years. She was born June 22, 1902 in Billings, Okla., and was married to Herbert T. Smith, June 1, 1938, at Carthage, Mo.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Great Bend, and had held the following offices: past president CWF, a deaconness, church school superintendent, church school teacher and also sponsored the young people fellowship class.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert T., of the home; her mother, Mrs. Nora Bedwell, Butler, Mo.; two brothers, Wayne Bedwell of Butler, Mo. and Estel Bedwell of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. John Hart, Independence, Mo.

Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery."
