A family tree found on ancestry.com (posted by Leon Crawford) shows Susan Elizabeth
Bedwell's birth to have been on Oct 15 1844 in Henderson, Chester County, Tennessee.
However, the 1850 Census records and her father's biography in History of
Los Angeles both contradict these facts (see the notes for her father, Robert
D. Bedwell, for these notations).
• 1880 Census for Westminster Township, Los Angeles County, California shows
Benjamin F. Nimmo, age 35, a farmer born in Missouri, as head of household with:
wife Susan E., age 35, born in Arkansas; daughter Emily C., age 13; son George
W., age 11; daughter Cora E., age 9; son Benjamin F., age 8; and daughter Julia
A., age 6. The children were all born in California. She died on 12 Jun 1896
in Westminster, TWS, City of Los Angeles, California. She was buried
in Santa Ana, Orange County, California. Susan Elizabeth Bedwell
and Benjamin Franklin Nimmo were married on 27 Nov 1867 in Orange County, California.
Benjamin Franklin Nimmo1131 (son of ) was born on 15 Feb 1845 in Springfield,
Green County, Missouri. He died on 8 Mar 1906 in Elsinore, Orange
County, California. 1865 - Benjamin left Jack County, Texas April
16 with his new wife Susan Elizabeth for Downey, California. Robert D. Bedwell,
Susan's father a well known pioneer of Downey, California with his second wife
and children accompanied them. They Traveled by wagon and ox team.
1866 - They arrived in Southern, California on 16 April, 1966.
1903 - Artical in the Santa Ana Blade News tells about Ben Doc Nimmo, his sons,
and others hunting coyotes on Main St in Santa Ana, California.
1906 - Died from an accidental gunshot wound.
Benjamin Nimmo served as foreman on the Irvine Ranch, his son George followed
in his footsteps, Irvine Ranch was owned by Movie Star and President Ronald Reagan.
