living; son Russell, 12; son Ernest, 9; son Andrew, 7; daughter Opal, 5; and
daughter Doris, 9/12. Andrew, Opal and Doris were born in Indiana, the others
in Illinois. Elias is in his first marriage, while May is in her second marriage
(apparently, Russell is May's son by her first marriage).
• 1920 Census for Pierson Township, Vigo County, Indiana shows Elisa Bedwell,
50, a farmer who rents, as head of household with: wife May, 35, a factory laborer;
son Russell R., 21, a factory laborer; son Ernest, 19, a barber; son Andrew,
16; daughter Opal, 14; and daughter Doris, 10. Andrew, Opal, and Doris were
born in Indiana, the rest in Illinois.
• 1930 Census for Terre Haute City, Vigo County, Indiana shows Elias Bedwell,
55, a laborer for a meat company, living with daughter Doris Shannon, 20; her
husband, Thomas Shannon, 25, a laborer for a meat company; and their son, Thomas
Shannon Jr., 2. Richard Elias Bedwell and Delia Mae Lantern were married on
14 Mar 1900 in Crawford County, Illinois. Delia
Mae Lantern1082 was
born about 1880 in Illinois.145
