The Catholic Missions

Rev. Charles RICKAERT, pastor of St Peter's Catholic Church, Mt. Clemens was born in Belgium August 15 1820; was educated in tine College of Flanders; was ordained priest of the Catholic Church, et Ghent, Belgium, in 1847. Father R. served ten years in the ministry of the church in Belgium In 1857, he went to Sauvain Belgium, to help in establishing the American Seminary there, and, in 1858, left for the United States, arriving here in April of that Year; he was appointed priest of the church at Hillsdale, Mich. where to remained for a term of thirteen years: in April 1871, to was appointed pastor of the St Peter's, at Mt Clemens: his administration of the parish has been marked watt the highest results: the denominational system of education has grown to some importance under his direction, church property has been improved, the congregation has advanced in knowledge and prosperity. The new church was projected by him and. under his superintendence, will he carried through to completion.
