Biography :

Although John Flammang stated having emigrated in 1855 in the 1900 census, the first trace he left was in the 1870 census in Chilton, in Calumet county like Brothertown and married to Odelia (Tillie) Boll. Following the censuses and other information, his birth place varied a lot. In 1870 it was Baden, in 1880 it was Belgium, in 1900 it was Germany and anew Belgium in 1910.
John and his family left Wisconsin around 1879 and settled in Tulare, California where they farmed all their life. They had 11 children. Five born in Wisconsin: Mary in 1868, Joseph in 1872, Emma in 1874, Rosa in 1876, John Benjamin in 1877, Mike in 1878. George was born 1880 in Tulare like Frank born in 1883, Catharine in 1884, Helena in 1885 and Lizzie in 1887.

John was admitted in the Home on January 28, 1907, were he spent some months till September 28 before going back home. He died on January 3, 1912 and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, San Diego, California. A place rather far away of Tulare.
