Northern New York Genealogy is dedicated to genealogy research, family history, and historical structures of Jefferson County, Lewis County, and St. Lawrence County, which comprise "Northern New York". Portions of surrounding counties, such as Oswego County (Central New York) are included as information becomes available. Our goal is to preserve the rich history of the "north country" of New York and to aid you in your family search. We hope to accomplish that by providing as much historical data as we can develop on Federal Census from 1810 - 1900, recording cemetery data and burial information, family histories, and background studies on historical structures. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay and please take a moment to fill out our guest book. Requests for specific information / sources or errors please contact us by email. You may want to return periodically as we are always on the search for new sources of information. The "News" page provides a list of projects underway as well as those that have been recently completed. The information provided under each of the topics is under continuous review to catch errors and refine information as we develop better methods of interpreting and presenting the data.
