THESE ARE A CONTINUATION OF THE PHOTO JOURNEY

John Bennett, Margaret Sandifer, Bennett Crawford, and Tom Simkin expanded the weekend festivities by doing additional family research, as I am sure many families did. On Thursday, Tom, Margaret, and John performed research on the history of one of Charles Bennett's daughters that had been documented living in Oskaloosa, KS. So that is where we found ourselves. The following day we added Bennett Crawford to the entourage and drove on to St. Joseph to view Jessee James home (had nothing to do with any relatives we know of), and further up the road took a detour into Rochester Missouri, where Edward Nugent lost his life under a wagon just east of the little town. He spent his last couple of days in extreme pain, being treated by a local doctor in a hotel in Rochester. We found where the hospital had been, and where the accident surely took place. From there we went on to the Flag Springs and Island City cemeteries where we located buried relatives. We finished out the day visiting Stanberry MO. and their cemetery with additional relatives. Photos were taken by Bennett Crawford, John Bennett, and as time passes more will be added from Tom Simkin and Margaret Sandifer. Additional photos of the displays at Empire Community Center and the quilt show are also included in this group.
