Paul Thomas Trefzger
1939 -

Paul was born on 6/27/1926 in Cincinnati, OH.

�Our baby was born June 27, 1939 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Joseph Colvin, a cousin who had just completed his internship was our doctor.�

�We first selected the baby�s name �Paul Henry� after my Dad�s name�.When we called them and told dad we decided on �Paul Henry�, he said he never did like the name, that is why he called himself �Harry��.we finally decided on �Paul Thomas�.�

�Paul went to kindergarten at the Westwood Public School. He was as timid as Jim. He didn�t want any part of school. In fact, he just wouldn�t stay. Reece Flinchpaugh lived next door. He was going to kindergarten in the afternoon. After talking to Evlyn about our problem, she suggested having Paul transferred to the afternoon class. This we did and everything worked out real well.�

�Paul attended classes at St. Catharine from the first grade to the eight grade and attended Elder High School. Paul�s interest was music. He wrote music, conducted a girl�s quartet called �The Teardrops� The Teardrops made several recordings that appeared on the 10 best hits of the week on radio. He collected the number one hits on the 45s each week. He was the editor of the �Purple Quile�, Elder�s school paper. At U.C. he excelled in portrait painting.�

�Paul graduated from U.C. also in Applied Arts. And the same year enlisted in th Air National Guard. There was basic training at Lackland Air Force Base for six weeks in San Antonio, Texas.He was assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base in Whita Falls, Texas. In September 1963 he completed his military however he had to attend meetings � one weekend a month and have field training �two weeks a summer until 1968. He was trained in teletype maintenance.�
