The Prebble family were from Kent, they came from the villages of Strood, Higham, Shorne, Cliffe, Elham and Cooling. These parishes are all quite close together, lying between the rivers Thames and Medway in Kent.

Richard Prebble [1] and Ursula were from Elham, they had 3 children baptised there,

                        1/ Ursula, b. 12/04/1667
                        2/ Mildred,  b. 29/11/1668
                        3/  Richard [2]  20/11/1670 - 25/07/1721,  he died in Lympne Kent

Richard Prebble [2] married Margaret Sanders *  They had 1 son
                        1/ Richard [3] born in Lympne 08/02/1712

Richard Prebble [3]  was married in Strood on 12/06/1739 to  Frances Baldery,  born in 1713 in Cliffe. She died on 27/03/1751.
He was a farmer and landowner in Cooling, Kent. They had 5 children, the last 3 all dying in infancy.

                        1/  John [1]  24/02/1739 - 19/12/1812
                        2/  Richard, b. 16/06/1741,  he was farmer in Cooling, where he died in 1775
                        3/ William, b. 28/06/1747
                        4/ Miriam, b. 16/10/1748
                        5/ Frances, b. 31/03/1755

Richard Prebble [3] was married a second time in 1771 to Mary Comport, a widow,  he died  in 1779.
 
John Prebble [1] was a gentleman farmer/landowner in Shorne and Higham.
He was married first to Mary Townsend,  she died in 1775 and is buried in the Townsend family grave in Higham 
They had 4 children:

                        1/ John, [2] b. 06/02/1772. He married 14/09/1795 Mary Anne Tadman in Higham,  and they had a daughter in 1797 also named Mary Anne.
                        2/ Thomas,  b. 20/01/1773
                        3/ Richard,  b. 23/05/1774. He died in 1813 and left a Will,  proved in 1819 bequeathing his estate to his brothers and sister.
                        4/ Letitia, d.o.b. unknown. She received inheritances in both the Wills of her father John and her brother Richard. She was married on 02/08/1791 to Joseph Howlett Fenner.

John Prebble [1]  married 2nd  Ann Day on 03/09/1782 in Southwark and they had 5 children all born in Higham:

                        1/ George,  born 16/12/1785, he died in 1869.
                        2/ Mary Ann born in February 1787. She married Benjamin Winckworth [3] in 1805.  She died in 1841.  
                        3/ Frances Maria,  16/08/1788 - 28/01/1879, she married Edward Smythe Mercer.
                        4/ Christopher,  01/07/1791 - 13/0/1873, he married Louisa Paine.
                        5/ Elizabeth, 1793 - 1872, she was married in Frindsbury Kent, to William Lake of Cobham Kent on 09/12/1817. She was buried in Bapchild, Kent on 30/04/1872
       

 John Prebble was a Constable of Shamwell at West Kent Quarter Sessions in 1795, and an Examiner of Weights & Measures.
He died in 1812. He left a Will leaving his estate to his wife Ann,  who died in 1822, they are both buried in the family vault in the North Chancel floor in Higham Church where there is a tablet inscribed with their names.

Christopher Prebble Esquire born 1791 died 1873 aged 82
Frances Maria Mercer daughter of John Prebble Esquire widow of Colonel E S Mercer Colonel Con*** R M born 1879 died Peckham near London. She lies in this vault.
Also Benjamin Winckworth grandson of above John Prebble died 13th January 1813 aged 7 years 2 months
