Analysis of the Timeline

Susannah Berry was born in the early fall of 1757 in Augusta County, Virginia, most likely in her parents’ farm in the upper reaches of Hays Creek, a tributary of the North River (north fork of the James River) in the northern part of the Borden Grant. Her mother, Esther (Ward) Berry was her father’s second wife according to a family record that appears to ultimately derive from her youngest sister, Esther (Berry) McCord. Susannah was the third child of that union.12
