Cousins Swimming in 5 Mile Creek which ran through the Newton Co, MO farm of Wesley Williamson on the Missouri-Oklahoma state line 1/4 mile south of Kansas state line and 60 miles north of the Missouri-Arkansas state line most likely after working in Uncle Wesley's hay field, July 1954. (Jerry's step-father, Richard Eugene 'Dick' Hetherington, grew up on this creek about 1 mile east and south of Wesley's farm. Wesley was Superintendent at Scott Mine, a lead & zinc mine where Dick's dad, Roscoe, worked before Dick met and married Mozell Boyd-Brown, the sister of Wesley's sister-in-law Gladys Boyd-Williamson. Wesley purchased the house, barn, and most of the Hetherington's property from Dick's grandfather, Alvin Christmas Hetherington. Alvin kept a small parcel to build a home for his family.)
