I Samuel White of the County of Charlotte and the parish of Cornwall being of sound mind and memory and Calling to mind the mortality of man knowing it is appointed for all men to die, I so knowing make and Constitute this my last Will and Testament that is to say, I commend my body to the dust from whence it Came to be buried in a Christian like manner, and my soul to Almighty God that gave it and as Touching my Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with, I devise and give in following manner Viz, first that all my Just debts if any be paid. Secondly I give to my beloved Wife Elizabeth White five Hundred pounds current money of Virginia to her own use and her heirs forever. I also give to my beloved Wife all my Household furniture plantation tools and Utensils. I also lend to my beloved Wife Elizabeth all my stocks of horses, Cattle, sheep and hogs for her Comfort during her natural life. I also lend to my beloved Wife all my Negroes that I have or hereafter may have to her during her natural life. I also lend to my beloved Wife all my lands which I now possess or hereafter may possess to her free use to enjoy during her natural life and after the decease of my beloved Wife my desire is that Old Stephan and wife Sarah be supported in a Comfortable manner during life, my desire is that one hundred pounds be Kept by my Executors in a bank on Interest for their support during their natural life in case of the death of either the survivor to Receive the whole amt. of Int. and after the death of said Stephan and Sarah my Executors to Enjoy and possess the same to them and their Heirs forever my desire is also that after the above legacies be paid as above directed, the Over plus then Remaining be Equally divided between my brothers and sisters or their surviving heirs begotten of their bodys, and at the decease of my beloved Wife my desire is that all my Estate both land and Negroes and stock that may remain, be sold and the money arrising from such sale be Equally divided between my brothers and sisters and the heirs of their bodys- and I do hereby revoke and disannul forever Wills by me made here before, and I do nominate and appoint William White and James Madison my Executors to this my last Will and testament. Garden Jno C Miller At a Court held for Charlotte County the 7th day of December 1818 This Last Will and Testament of Samuel White dec'd was produced in Court and the same was proved by the oaths of (illegible) and John C. Miller two of the Witnesses that subscribed and it is ordered to be Recorded, as the motion of William White and James Madison the Executors named in the said Will who made oath according to law probate of the Will is granted them, on giving bond and security, Whereupon they with John Armistead, Samuel Armistead, Richard W. Gaines, William Edwards, and Josiah Jackson their securities Entered into acknowledged their bond according to law for that purpose.
