WILLIAM JOSEPH EDWARDS
RIGHTS HELD FOR LONG TIME RESIDENT
     William Joseph Edwards was born March 4, 1886 at Buffalo, Missouri, in Dallas county. He departed from this life June 25, 1969 at the age of 83 years 3 months and 21 days. He was the son of William Henry and Mary Jane Edwards. He was married to Bertha Ann Norman November 11, 1905, she preceeded him in death November 28, 1949. To this union 10 children were born. Twin infant sons preceeded him in death. Survivors include: His present wife Bessie Edwards of the home, 2 daughters, Mrs. Thelma Robb of Crane, and Mrs. Nadine Ferguson of Granby, Mo., 6 sons: Alvin and Floyd , both of Crane, Missouri, Norman of Branson, Missouri, Henry of Hillsboro, Missouri, Reverend Eugene Edwards of Calhoun, Missouri, and Francis of Eureka, Missouri. There are 23 grandchildren, and 10 step children. Also, he leaves hehind 1 sister, Mrs. Ida Robbins of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Edwards was converted and baptised becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Crane on May 7, 1915. he was a faithful member of the chruch and served his Lord willingly and wherever he could. He was ordained to the office of deacon in 1920. He will be greatly missed by his friends, relatives, family and neighbors.
     Funeral services wre held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jun 26 in the First Baptist Church in Crane with the Rev. Arthur Page officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Crane.
