DALE GAMBLE
Clyde Dale Gamble, 71, of Galena, Rt.1, was dead on arrival at the
Aurora Community Hospital last Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. following a
heart attack.
He was a lifelong resident of Stone County, where he had retired as a farmer.
He was a World War 1 Veteran.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Bill Murray, Billings, and Mrs. Kenneth
Cox, Pacific, Mo.; Two sons, James R Gamble of Nevada, Mo., Truman Gamble,
St. Louis, Mo.; and one brother, Jim Gamble of Monett.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian
Church in Crane, with the Rev. Gene Waite officiating. Burial was in the
Crane Masonic Cemetery, under direction of Manlove.

CAPE FAIR- Services for Blanch Edna Gentry, Cape Fair, will be at 10a.m.
Monday in Crane First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Cape
Fair Cemetery. Mrs Gentry, a homemaker died at 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday near her home in an auto accident

CUMA
HENSON GENTRY
Cuma Henson Gentry, daughter of Francis Marion and Alice Jane Henson,
was born December 1, 1887 and died January 4, 1966 in the Baptist Hospital
in Springfield, at the age of 78 years, one month and 3 days.
Cuma was born on the old Henson farm near Cedar Bluff where she later attended
school. On December 5th, 1905 she was united in marriage to William E.
Gentry who survives her. To this union was born six children, all of whom
survive. They are: four sons, Allen of Meridian, Idaho; Wayne of Crane,
Mo,; Leo, Santa Maria, Calif.; and Don of Las Vegas, NV. Two daughters,
Cecile Foster of Meridian, Idaho; and Juanita Harris of Topeka, Kansas.
Also one sister, Mrs. Bess Hudson of Galena, Mo. Rt. 2 and Roy Henson of
Cape Fair. 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews, besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 7, 1966 in the Cape Fair Church
of Christ, with Bro. Walter Buchanan officiating and burial was in the
Cape Fair Cemetery under the direction of Manlove of Crane.

L. GENTRY
Don L. Gentry, 83, of Capefair, passed away in his home on Sunday, February
6, 2000.
Mr. Gentry was the son of William and Cuma (Henson) Gentry. He was
born April 7, 1916 in Cape Fair.
Don was a farmer and carpenter by trade. He left Cape Fair for Idaho
when he was a young man. He was united in marriage to his childhood
sweetheart, Blanche Calhoun, in 1936 in Idaho. Don was a farmer there for
many years. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1964. They returned
to Cape Fair to retire in 1972. Many people knew Don for his many
years of dedicated service to the Cape Fair Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanch Edna Gentry; a son, Ronnie;
his parents; a sister, Cecile Foster; three brothers, Allen Gentry, Wayne
Gentry and Leo Gentry.
Don is survived by his daughter, Donna Helm and her husband Asa of Cape
Fair; a sister, Juanita Harris of Crane; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren,
three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11:00a.m., Wednesday , February 9, in Cape
Fair Baptist Church with the Rev.Lloyd Hart officiating. Burial was
in Cape Fair Cemetery under the direction of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home,
Crane, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cape Fair
Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.

GENTRY
Florence Gentry, 86, Galena, died Tuesday at her home in Galena. She was
a life-long resident of Stone County.
Survivors are two sons, Delmar, of Galena and Frank of Santa Barbara, Calif.;
one daughter, Mrs. Elva Dulling of Jefferson City, Mo., 3 half-sisters,
Mrs. Inez Seabolt, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs Nora Branstetter, Crane and Mrs. Etta
Bransit of Crane; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thurday, June 24, 1965 in the Galena Community
Church at 2:00 p.m. John Whitmer will officiate. Burial will be in the
Galena Cemetery under direction of Cheatham-Stumpff of Galena.

GENTRY-
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the First Southern Baptist
Church, 1104 West Fesler, for Leo Gentry, 74, who died Friday in a local
hospital after a brief illness. Pastor Tommy Weems will officiate.Private
inturment will be at a later date. Mr. Gentry was born in Cape Fair,
Mo., and had been a resident of Santa Maria for 48 years. He had
been involved in farming and worked for Rice Ranch. He also owned
and operated a service station at one time. He was employed as custodian
for Adams School for 15 years retiring in 1980. He was a member of
the First Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow Wilma C. Gentry,Santa Maria; daughters, Jean
Yelton, Las Vegas, Nv, Beverly Born, El Monte, Ca; sons, Larry Gentry,
Taft, Ca; John Gentry, LaPalma, Ca; and Jerry Gentry, Santa Maria,Ca; brothers,
Don Gentry, Galena, Mo,.Wayne Gentry, Crane, Mo., and Allen Gentry, Boise,
Idaho; sisters, Juanita Harris, Crane, Mo.,and Cecil Gentry, Boise, Idaho;
eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

AT CATOOSA FOR LONNIE GENTRY
CATOOSA,
April 19 (1950)-The funeral of Lonnie C. Gentry, 85, retired carpenter
who died at his home here late Tuesday, was to be held at 2 p.m. today
in the Catoosa Baptist Church. Interment was to be at Catoosa cemetery
under direction of the Kennard Funeral Home, Broken Arrow.
A
native of Missouri, he had resided in the Catoosa area 40 years and was
a member of the Christian Church and Odd Fellows Lodge. Surviving
are his wife, Edna; two sons, Will Gentry, Cape Fair, Mo., and Clarence
Gentry, Meridian, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs Ruby Stokes, Catoosa, and Mrs
Ola Watts, Iowa Park, Texas; 38 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and
four great-great-grandchildren.

Mabel
E. Gentry, 88 , of Boise, died Saturday, Oct.11, 1997, at a Boise care
center after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Oct 15, at the Alden-Waggoner Chapel, Boise, Idaho. The
Rev.Kjell Knutsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Meridian
Cemetery.
Mabel
was born Sept.21, 1909, at Cape Fair, Mo.; a daughter of William and Gertrude
Taylor Ellis. She was raised by her grandparents, John M. and Clara
Melton Taylor. She married Allen Gentry on Sept. 26, 1928, at Neosho,
Mo. They later moved to Idaho, settling in the Meridian area.
Mabel
was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her garden , and loved cats
and other animals. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Friend of Boise;
two sons and
daughters-inlaws,
Robert J. and Joyce of Cortez, Colo., and James L. and Linda of Boise;
one half sister Ruth Henson Asher of Cape Fair, Mo.; seven grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; and close friends, Harry and Dorothene Cowger of
Lewiston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, on June
29, 1993.
The
family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical
Center, 1055 N. Curtis Road, Boise 83706; or flowers may be sent.
Friends
and family may call Tuesday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Chapel.

CRANE:
Mrs Cuma Gentry, 78, Lifelong resident of the Cape Fair community, died
at 1:45 A.M. Tuesday in Springfield Baptist Hospital where she had been
a patient for a few hours. An autopsy has been performed but results were
not available.
Surviving are her husband, William E.; two daughters, Mrs. Cecile
Foster, Meridian, Idaho, and Mrs. Juanita Harris, Topeka, Kan.; four sons,
Wayne, Crane, Allen, Meridian Idaho, Leo, Santa Maria, Calif, and Don,
Las Vegas, Nec.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs Amos Hudson, Route 2, Galena; a brother,
Roy Henson, Cape Fair; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Friday in Cape Fair Church of Christ
with Walter Buchannan officiating. Burial will be in Cape Fair Cemetery
under direction of Manlove of Crane.

CRANE--William E Gentry, 80, of Cape Fair, died Saturday afternoon at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reser, Marionville, following an apparent heart
attack.
Mr. Gentry, a retired carpenter, was a lifelong resident of Cape Fair.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cecile Foster, Meridian, Idaho, Mrs
Juanita Harris, Osage City, Kan.; four sons, Wayne of Crane; Alan of Meridian,
Idaho, Leo of Santa Monica, Calif., Don of Los Vegas, Nev.; one half sister
and one half brother.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cape Fair Church of Christ
with Lindel Anthony officiating. Burial was in Cape Fair, Cemetery under
direction of Manlove of Crane.

GLADYS
O. GILMORE
Gladys
O. Gilmore, 96, Clever, died July 25, 1998, in her home. She was born August
17, 1901, in Stone County, the daughter of Charley and Margaret (Johnson)
Baker. She was saved at an early age and was the oldest living member of
the Union Ridge Baptist Church. Gladys married Earl Ulmon Gilmore on February
17, 1918. He died May 30, 1979. She is also preceded in death by four brothers
and a sister. She is survived by four sons, Clinton “Mitt” Gilmore, Edgar
“Bob” Gilmore, Johnny and his wife, Mary, all of Clever, and Jimmie Gilmore
and his wife, Janice, of Marionville; two daughters and their husbands,
Lois and Dude White of Clever and Juanita and Leo Bryant of Springfield;
a sister-in-law, Ester Baker, of Hurley; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever with the Rev. Leeroye
Maples officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near Clever.
Visitation was 7-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions
may be made to Union Ridge Cemetery Fund.

GLOSSIP
Eva
Glossip, age 77, of Nixa, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2000, in
St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. She was born on August
4, 1923, in Jamesville, Missouri, the daughter of Sam T. and Edith Pearl
(Fox) Gardner. In June of 1941, she was united in marriage to Jim Glossip,
who preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding her in death were her
parents. Mrs. Glossip was a business lady all of her life. She and Jim
owned and operated the General Marcantile Stores in Ponce De Leon, Spokane
and Highlandville. She also was an insurance agent and was a very successful
real estate broker, having her own company, Glossip Realty, for 20 years.
She was a member of the Ozark Chapter #98 of the Eastern Star for 47 years.
Also she was a longtime member of TOPS in Ozark and was a member of the
Springfield Board of Realtors. Mrs. Glossip had been a member of Ridgecrest
Baptist Church for the past ten years. Eva’s first love was God with her
family being close behind. She was a very good Christian and the best Mother
in the world. Eva was a kind, loving and thoughtful Mom and Grandmother,
and the light of her life for the last three years have been Shelbey and
Makayla, her great-granddaughters. Survivors include, two daughters, Kay
Noe and her husband, Gene, of Nixa, and Sue Bilyeu and her husband, David,
of Walnut Shade; three grandchildren, Tracy Greer and her husband, Doug,
of Marshfield, Shelly O’Neil and her husband, Scott, of Branson, and Tiffany
Bilyeu of Walnut Shade; two great-grandchildren, Makayla Manwarren and
Shelbey Greer; her twin sister, Neva Smith and friend, Joe Bill Hogan,
of Ozark; a brother, Eugene Gardner and his wife, Juanita, of Overland
Park, Kansas; a niece, Jane Ann Gardner of Spring Hill, Kansas; and a nephew,
Roger Smith and his wife, Carolyn, of Highlandville. Services were held
on Monday, October 16, 2000, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa with the Reverends
Brent Davis and Paul Sanner officiating. Burial was held at the Highlandville
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist
Church Building Fun in care of Adams Funeral Home, 109 N. Truman Blvd.,
Nixa, MO 65714.

MAE GOLD
Mrs.
Virgie Mae Gold, 76, Route 2, Crane, died Sunday morning at Cox Medical
Center, Springfield, after a long illness. Mrs. Gold was a lifelong resident
of Stone County and a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Hurley. She
is survived by her husband, Clarence; one daughter, Mrs. Louella Dulin,
Crane; three sons, Ray, of Billings, Dale, of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Billy
Joe, of Baxter Springs, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Martha Davis, Warsaw, Ind.;
four brothers, J. G. Howser, South Gate, Calif., Alfred Howser and D. C.
Howser, both of Crane, and C. H. Howser, Branson; 10 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
Union City Church of the Nazarene with Elder Orie Wright officiating. Burial
will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery south of Clever under direction of Cantrell
of Clever.

Funeral
services for William Efton Guthrie, 78, who died Sept. 24 at his home near
Clever, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Clever Baptist Church with Rev.
John Philiber officiating. Burial was in Frazier Cemetery under direction
of Harris Funeral Home of Clever. A native of Stone County, he was a farmer
and lifelong resident of the Clever community. He was a member of the Clever
Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Guthrie; three
sisters, Mrs. Marie Garoutte of Clever, Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of Springfield
and Mrs. Edith Estes of Billings.
