ClARRISA EVELYN JAMES
Clarissa Evelyn James, Reed's Spring, MO departed this life July 8, 2001 in Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center, Crane at the age of 80 years. She was the daughter of Charles Harvey and Bertha May (Tilden) Butler and was born October 9, 1920 in Reed's Spring, MO. Evelyn was a retired facotry worker and a lifelong resident of the area. Survivors include one daughter Shirley James of Reed's Spring; one brother Tommy Butler of Reed's Spring and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, in Stumpff Chapel-South, Kimberling City with Johnny Holt and Joe Dan Edwards officiating. Burial was in Yocum Pond Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home-South, Kimberling City.

MARY COSTELLO JARVIS
      Mary Costello Jarvis was born Oct. 2, 1886. She was the daughter of Thomas and Fanny Carney.
      Mrs. Jarvis was a fromer resident of Cape Fair and lived in Springfiled the past ten years.
      She was united in marriage to Riley Costello. To this union were born four sons and two daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one daughter.
      Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Nadine Wampler of Springfield; three sons, Troy Costello of Canoga Park, Calif.; Ralph and Carl of Lakewood, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Bowman of Monett; Mrs. Faye Gottney of Purdy; Mrs. Sallie Bolin of Idaho; Mrs. Ola Hughes of Long Beach, Califl; three brothers, Emerson Carney of  Oklahoma City; Harold of Tulsa; Clyde of Purdy; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
       Mrs Jarvis united with the Christian Church of Cape Fair at the age of 21.
       She was a devoted mother to her family and lived an unselfish life.
       Her memory will long remain a source of inspiration to her many loved ones who mourn her passing.
       Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Rainey's Chapel with the Rev. Richard Baker officiationg. Burial was in Cape Fair Cemetery.
*Note: This is a spelling variation on the Costlow name. A family story states that some members of the Costlow family who went west  changed the spelling to Costello at the time of Abbot & Costello fame.

HOMER JONES
     Services for Homer T Jones, 78, Cassville, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Febuary 6 in the Williamson Chapel, Cassville, with the Rev. Doyle Russell officiation.Burial was in the Muncie Cemetery, Eagle Rock.
     Mr. Jones died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Febuary 2, 1985 in the Missouri State Chest Hospital, Mout Vernon, where he had been a patient for five days.
     A Cape Fair native, Mr. Jones moved to Cassville in 1965. He was a retired Masonry worker, carpenter, and farmer and attended the Pentecostal Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Beulah May; a son, Lloyd, Cassville; two daughters, Alvida Hall,, Cassville, and Margaret Ball, Galena, Kansas.; a brother, George, Rupert, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and a great grandson.

JOHN ISAAC JONES

JOHN ISAAC JONES PASSES TO REWARD-Pioneer Cape Fair Resident dies of Infimaties of Old Age-Is Buried today.
    John Isaac Jones, 82, a resident of Cape Fair Community for the most of his life, died at his farm near Cape Fair Sunday night from a Heart Attack and other infirmities of old age.
    Mr. Jones was born in Tennessee in 1855 and came to this secton of the county when he was a small boy. He had been a farmer all his life and was well and favorably known throughout this section. He had been totally blind for about four years previous to his death, but in spite of this handicap he never lost his sense of humor. He loved to visit his friends and have them visit with him. He was known as a hardworking man and reared and educated a family of eight children..
     Surviving are his wife, and seven children: Joseph, rural mail carrier of Cape Fair, MO; Cleo at home; Elmer of Galena; Mrs Oma Van Tries and Mrs. Elsie McMasters, both of Kansas City; Mrs. Nettie Baker and Mrs. May Cox, both of Reeds Spring.
     Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Wildrson of Springfield officiating. Burial was in Cape Fair Cemetery under direction of Lane and Manlove Funeral Home.

 LAURA BELL JONES
    Laura Bell Jones, 97, of Springfield, formerly a lifelong resident of Cape Fair, died at 9:40 am Sunday, May 14, 1995 in Springfield Park Care Center.
    The daughter of Henry W. and Alice D. Carr, she was born Oct 16, 1897 near Cape Fair.
    She was married to Joseph H Jones on December 24, 1919. To this union were born 5 children.
    Laura was preceded in death by her husband, one son Roy M. Jones, one daughter Helen Lewis, her parents, four brothers, Walter, Fred, Leonard and Clyde Carr, and one sister Lucille Castor.
    She is survived by on son and his wife, Joy L. and Joyce Jones, Springfield; two daughters and their husbands, Alice and Joy Allen, Springfield, and Reatha and Paul Guyer, Lincoln, Nebraska; two sister, Jessie Henson, Crane, and Pearl Tolbert, Aurora; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
     Laura became a Christian during her teenage years and was a faithful member or the Chruch of Christ all her life. She was a homemaker and was known for her hospitality, as her home was always open to family, friends and neighbors.
     She and her husband alway took an active part in chruch, school and community affairs.
     Her greatest joy was in having her family in her home for get-togethers.
     She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home, Strafford, Mo, or the Cape Cair Cemtery Fund, Cape Fair, MO.

 THOMAS L JONES

     Thomas L Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs Joseph Jones was born in Stone Co, Mo, January 3, 1875 and died in his home in Cape Fair, Mo. route 1. July 9, 1957 at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 6 days.
     He was united in marriage to Miss Leona Costlow June 3, 1903 and she preceded him in death in 1930.
     He is survived by his children: Claude, Homer, and Mrs Sarah Foster, all of Cape Fair, Mo, George of Rupert, Idaho; Eleven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 3 half-sisters, Mrs. Eliza White of Racine, Mo, Mrs Hettie Jones and Mrs Sarah Byrom of Cape Fair Mo.
     He was baptized into the Church of Christ by Brother Cottrell in 1913. While not active in the Church, he was a man of firm convictions.
     Funeral services were held Thurday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Church of Christ at Cape Fair with Rev. Walter Buchanan of Springfield officiating. Burial was in Cape Fair Cemetery under the direction of Everett J. Cheatham of Galena.
