In 1913, the women of the First Christian Church of Luther organized a group to share the problems and responsibilities of the Church, calling themselves the Heart and Hand Workers. The growing congregation built its second church building in 1919, and tradition has it that this book was one of the fund-raising projects undertaken to pay for it. | |
