Letter from Edna O'Reilly in October 2004

"Joe left school at 15 he went to train as a jockey but nothing came of it then he went to work at Sowbeys the glass factory. He then went to work at Mysons factory where he made radiators. He was there until 1990 where he was made redundant. He died in 1992 with a heart attack. He was a happy go lucky kind of guy he liked a drink he was also a champion domino player but his passion was golf. He played at a place called the Ravensworth. I met Joe in 1971 I had just came back from Australia where I had been for a couple of years. I have also been a post office assistant I have also worked for a vet and then when my kids were older I became a home help. When Joe died my oldest daughter Caroline had a 5month little boy so he did see him for a short while. There are two boys to carry on the O'Reilly name Liam Christopher and Jordan Lewis I have two granddaughter: Georgia Louise and the latest addition to the family Kacey Jo. I have sent a copy of the news paper cuttings we could not help you with the other things you wanted but if we come across anything more then I will gladly forward it to you. "
