Letters of Administration
Be it known, that at the date hereunder written, Letters of Administration of the personal Estate of Joseph Ward late of No. 49 Fonthill Road, Islington in the county of Middlesex, Journeyman Blacksmith, deceased, who died on the 3rd day of February 1889, at No. 49 Fonthill Road aforesaid, intestate, were granted by Her Majesty?s High Court of Justice at the Principal Registry of the Probate Division thereof to John Edward Ward of Treluswell Penryn in the County of Cornwall Fruit Grower the lawful Great Uncle and the curator or Guardian lawfully assigned of Joseph Cornelius Ward, Thomas Sidney Ward, Cecil Collett Ward and Maud Beatrice Ward spinster infants the natural and lawful children and only next of kin of the said intestate for the use and benefit of the said infants and until one of them shall attain the age of 21 years be the said John Edward Ward having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same. Elizabeth Jane Ward the lawful widow and relict of the said intestate having died without having taken upon herself letter of administration of his personal estate. John Neal the lawful grandfather of only next of kin of the said infants having renounced their custation or guardianship.
Dated the 16th day of May 1889.
Gross value of personal estate ?91-17s-3d.
It is possible that Elizabeth Jane married Joseph Clemo in Holborn, London (Jul-Sept 1880). It is thought (by Sidney Osborn) that Joseph Clemo died in 1881 and then she married Joseph Ward in 1882. Note that there is a marriage of Elizabeth Jane Clemo in Holborn in Apr-June 1882 ref 1b 1153.
