Husband:
Nicholas JOHNS (1702?-1781)
Wife:
Abigail SEYMONS (1707?-1771)
Children:
Marriage:
26 Feb 1730
Kenwyn, Cornwall1
It's difficult to track this family back any further. No sign of a Marriage in Philleigh for Nicholas Johns. Also, the mother's forename is not recorded on Abigail's baptism. However there are several other Johns' baptisms with the father as Nicholas and some with the mother as Abigail - hence it's quite possible that Abigail's mother was also called Abigail.
However, just to add to the confusion there are three burials where the husband's name is Nicholas Johns:
Elizabeth in 1737
Abigail (aged 65) in 1771
Rachel (aged 87) in 1787
and there are 2 Nicholas Johns buried in Philleigh:
1770 (aged 105)
1781 (aged 79)
I guess it's possible that the 1770 one was the father of Nicholas that died in 1781 - then it's also possible that the Elizabeth was the first Nicholas' wife and the old Nicholas then remarried a Rachel. Hence we could then link the 2nd Nicholas with Abigail as the parents of Abigail.
In conclusion, I cannot link the two Nicholas' together (yet) but I do believe that the older Nicholas married Elizabeth and then Rachel - whereas the younger Nicholas was married to Abigail - hence I will insert her name as the mother of Abigail and also add the other children
