THE WARDLAW-WARDLOW GENEOLOGY The name Wardlaw dates back as,far as it can be historically traced,to 883 in northern England. The name is mentioned in the priory of Hexham,when Alfred the Great was King. It occurs in historical documents as a place name in Scotland in 1210,when there was a parish of the name Inverness-shire.The name is also found in several of the southern counties.As a surname it not found earlier than the latter half of the thirteenth century.
