My oldest Ancestor that I know of, on the Black side was Malcolm Black
(Born abt. 1690). The Blacks are of Scottish descend. The Black Family settled
in Cumberland County, North Carolina in the mid 1700's. The Black Family moved
to Greene County, Mississippi around 1811 and has lived near there for 4 generations.

The Motes Family is of French Huguenot descend and settled in South Carolina
in the early to mid 1700's. In the early to mid 1800's, Dendy Motes moved to
Pike County, Alabama. The Motes family has lived around that area ever since.
