   William, had a grant of land in Hing. at the first distribution of lots, Sept. 18, 1635. Walton's Cove, included in what is now Melville Gardens, at Downer Landing, undoubtedly derived its name from him. "He had been bred," says Mr. Savage, "at Emanuel Coll., Cambridge (Eng.), where he took his degree 1621, and 1625, and was no doubt ord., and served at Seaton, in the County of Devon, where it is known that several of his children were born." Freeman 3 March, 1635-36. He remained but a few yrs. in Hing.; was afts. of Marblehead, where he preached many yrs.; perh. also at Lynn and Manchester. He. d. in the autumn of 1668. The chris. name of his w. was Elizabeth. Their

         vi.  Josiah, b. at Marblehead, Dec. 20, 1641.
        vii.  Marie, b. at Marblehead, May 14, 1644.
