   William, an early resident of this town, was a member of Capt. Johnson's company, Dec. 1675, and one of the selectmen of Hing. 1677. He prob. removed from here soon after 1681, in which year he was assessed a rate towards the erection of the new meeting-house. His first w., whom he m. in Oct. 1648, was Sarah, dau. of Anthony Cooper. She d. 27 Nov. 1652. Dec. 10, 1663, he tood a sec. w., whose chris. name was Mary.
   Ch., all by the sec. m'ge, and b. in Hing., were:----

         iv.  Alice, Nov. 25, 1669.
