| I have not yet found the marriage of William and Mary Ann, but only last year (2004), light dawned! According to each census, William's wife, Mary Ann, was born the same year (1830) and place (Drakelow) as Mary Ann NORTON, a "missing" older sister of my great-grandfather, Francis. The purchase of the birth certificate for their son, Harry, proves that Mary Ann was indeed née NORTON. Since William's mother Rebecca WATSON (née NORTON) was a younger sister of Mary Ann's father, John, William and Mary Ann were first cousins. |
