Will of Richard STRAIGHT, St Allen, Cornwall: 1700

Probate granted 20 May 1701, St Allen

In the name of God Amen I Richard Straight of the parish of St Allen in the County of Cornwall being of perfect memory but sick in body do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following

That is to say first I commend my soul into the hands of my Creator god Almighty beseeching him for the merritts of his dear son Jesus Christ my Redeemer to [preserve this same?] death in life and death by the [assistance?] and comfort of his Holy Spirit my Comforter and after my life to [preserve this same?] in the blessed society of his Saints for ever as [Almighty?] faithful Creator according to his word. And my body to be buried in Christian manner and at the good pleasure of the most Holy Trinity my Creator Redeemer and Comforter to be raised and united to my living soul and to remain with him for ever Amen

Item I do give unto my son Charles Straight one shilling
Item I do give unto my son John Straight one shilling
Item I do give unto my son Simon Straight one shilling
Item I do give unto my daughter Elizabeth one shilling
Item I give unto my daughter Gratia (Grace) one shilling
Item I give unto my daughter Constance one shilling
Item I do give and bequeath all my goods and chattells to my son Richard Straight and him the said Richard I do by therfor [----] appoynt nominate and ordayne to be my sole Executrix (sic) and to preserve this my last will and testament.

In witness where of I have here unto putt my hand and seal and have published and delivered this as my last act and deed containing my last will and testament made and given the twelfth day of October Anno:Domi 1700
