I am looking for any information on my grandfather Gus Blanton, I really do not have much information other than he was born possibly in Harlan County, Kentucky on December 2, 1916 and I know that he passed away in Arizona on July 25th, 1970. He was married to Helen Doris Gibson, they had 3 daughters, Jean, Patricia and Mary (my mother). I am attempting a family tree and I need to order a birth certificate of my grandfather, however I do not know anything of his family, my mother does not remember her grandparents names either. She does remember that he had a brother that went by the name of "Fonzie" she does not know if that was his real name or a nickname that was given to him. It is possibly that my grandfathers real first name was William and Gus being his middle name, but he chose to go by that name. Any information that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

What a great website, I really enjoyed reading it, I'm truly impressed. But I do have to say I must be a "Mutt" Blanton. I only know of a great-great-great Grandfather named John Blanton whom moved to Marysville, (NW) MO soon after the Civil War from Tennessee and the family stayed in that area until my Father moved to California while in the Army. There is a small area known as Stone Bluff close to Veedersburg, IN where the Blanton's lived, but they may have come from from a KY migration.
