Almond B. Burnham & Helen J. Hall

Almond B. Burnham, b. 1836, Massachusetts,  and wife Helen "Nellie" J. Hall, b. 1841, Michigan,  lived in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1880. Almond and Helen married in Lenawee County, Michigan 14 October 1862. Their first child Ada L. Burnham, b. ca. 1864, was born in Michigan.  Sometime between 1864 and 1868 the family moved to Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, where Almond was employed as a Stove and Tin Merchant.

Two more children are born in Louisville, Kentucky: Walter D. Burnham, b. ca. 1868 and Albert Bruce Burnham, b. ca. 1872, Kentucky.   The Burnham family moved to Denver sometime between 1880 and 1883.

The 1885 Colorado State census shows the addition of one more child named Helen Burnham, b. ca. 1883, in Colorado.  The children married as follows: Ada L. Burnham married Francis M. Tucker December 30, 1885; Albert Bruce Burnham married Cora E. Leif, August 31, 1895; and Walter D. Burnham married Elizabeth M. Hartnett October 21, 1897.

 

Norman G. Burnham & Mary Katherine Treat

Arriving in Denver in 1879 was the family of Norman G. Burnham, b. ca. 1831, Ohio and wife Mary Katherine Treat, b. 1837, Syracuse, New York.  Norman and Mary married May 7, 1861 in Medina County, Ohio.

 Mr. Burnham, a physician, graduated from the Eclectic Medical college of Cincinnati, and the College of Homeopathy of Cleveland.  Prior to coming to Colorado in 1879, he had practiced medicine in St. Louis and Indianapolis.  Doctor N. G. Burnham practiced medicine in Denver for over 33 years. In 1913 he was elected honorary president of the American Institute of Homeopathy. 

Wife Mary Katherine Treat, b. 1837, was the daughter of Adnah Adams Treat, b. April 8, 1797, Hartford, Connecticut,  and Jane Reiley, b. 1805. Adnah Treat came to Denver 1883

The Burnham's had four children:  Arthur T. Burnham, b. ca. 1864, Indianapolis; Marian Grace Burnham, b. ca. 1867, Indianapolis; Florence J. Burnham, b. ca. 1870, Indianapolis; and Norman Burnham Jr., born ca. 1873, Michigan.

The children married in Denver as follows:  Arthur T. Burnham married Ida J. Rush, June 6, 1891; and Marian Grace Burnham, married Eugene W. Knight, November 10, 1887.
